Dear All I'm very pleased to announce the release of the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén (1998 version), Alta Gracia, Córdoba, Argentina, originally done by Juha Hallikainen and finished by myself with the aid of several REAL and GPL drivers Especially I want to thank Oreste Berta (h), which is the son of the great "Mago de Alta Gracia", Oreste Berta Sr. He's something like "our Colin Chapman" here in Argentina and made real history in the Argentinian motor racing but projected also internationally (https://es.wikipedia...ki/Oreste_Berta) Oreste (h), through our GPL-er friend Daniel Demarchi, gave us valious advice to complete the track, which was a honour, especially for me (Marcos), the Argentinian of the team. Thanks a lot to many devoted track makers, as Ginetto and Pablo Fernandez, which gave me a lot of help during the learning of GPL-track building I hope to see many of you racing online at this track!! :) Cheers, Marcos Mirande ----- Autódromo Oscar Cabalén (1998- ) =============================== REAL TRACK Track Location : Alta Gracia, Cordoba, Argentina Track Type : Racetrack Track Lenght : 4.045 kms. - 2.513 miles. Track Num. Turns : 13 Track Year : 1998 History of the GPL-Version of the A. Oscar Cabalén -------------------------------------------------- This track was done in a 90% by Juha Hallikainen. It had only some clipping, some issues with the layout here and there and had much flatter corners than actually are, especially T1, T2, and the exit of "La Chicana". With the help of professional racers and/or team managers (Berta, Humbert and Brusaferri) we could fix those issues before releasing the track. THANKS! History of Autódromo Oscar Cabalén ---------------------------------- The Autódromo Oscar Cabalén was inaugurated in 1968 in Alta Gracia, near Cordoba City, Córdoba, Argentina. This is, indeed, a famous venue in Argentina, hosting many local categories. It had several layouts, being the original, from 1968, a high speed "perimetral" one, which is not in use anymore because it was considered too dangerous for real racing... but actually not that dangerous for GPL-racing (so... who knows... maybe we could do it in some future). The version of the track herein recreated was inaugurated in 1998 for the Turismo Carretera (TC), the main tourism category in Argentina. textures and 3dos by JHalli various final details by Marcos Mirande Thanks to: Papyrus/Sierra for original game Peter Prochazka for GPLTrk Phil Flack for GTKMaker, TRK23DO, MipMan, SrbMan, GPLAnim, Sciss Paul Hoad for GPL Track Editor Christian Wohlfahrt for 123DO Klaus Horbrand for WinMip Anton Norup Sørensen for Graced Dave Noonan for 3DOED Strava for FB Adjust Neil McCollum for gplconvert Joachim Blum for TrkCAMEdit Gplunk4ever22 for Barry Thompson aka Bertram Francois Dubuc for GPL LP Editor Nigel Pattinson for RPY2LP,camedit,racecon and AI tutorials Martin Granberg and Bernd Nowak for GPL Track Installer Richard Neville (Panchine) and Jackseller some textures Ginetto for some helpful info testings for Horacio Ostoich,Aleksi Elomaa,Eric Fulghum RacesimCentral forum SMRZ Forum Many thanks to Oreste Berta (h), Jorge Humbert, Valentin Brusaferri, and Daniel Demarchi for let us know about several small issues in the layout we had in earlier versions.
