http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=8808&hl=%20dirt%20%20gear&st=240 Olaf Lehmann Posted May 08 2022 - 10:56 AM In 2016 I had offered a 36fps version. There was practically no reaction, so I removed the version from the programme folder at some point. My theory was: DGP is far too new-fangled for those who are still using 36fps. Lately I've heard that some people don't try the patch because they can't get 60fps to run smoothly. That's why I decided to make another actual 36fps version (the patch has evolved in the meantime). The 36fps version (called dirtgear811x36fps) is basically the same as the 36fps version, except... -The waiting time at the pit to repair/change the tyre is longer: 25s instead of 15s at 60fps. This has technical reasons. Otherwise there would be a conflict with another patch. -The tyre wear intensity is different. In 36fps LONG mode has the same tyre wear as in 60fps in SHORT mode. SHORT mode has (at 36fps) 1.5 times the tyre wear as in LONG mode. This seems to me to fit better with the 25s waiting time. GP mode has three times the tyre wear as in LONG mode. I would like to take this opportunity to explain why the different tyre types: Some see tyre wear and pit stops as an asset; others reject degrading tyres as unrealistic. The idea is that the server/league can decide for itself what it wants. In SHORT mode, changing tyres can be useful even in short races; in GP mode, there is hardly any slackening even after an hour of racing. This means that in GP mode you virtually have the patch without tyre wear. Unfortunately, many seem not to have understood this. And some don't want to understand it... The 36fps version is in the programme folder, Link you find in first post. Some more remark, because some express interest to use the patch offline: -In training mode you have the same tyre wear as in SHORT mode. -Computer controlled cars will not have their tyres go down, they will not make pit stops either. -The pit stop waiting times are shorter in offline races than online (approx. 15s in 36fps; approx.8s in 60fps). The native GP mode of gpl is exciting because it shows tire wear, but has the caveat of the time needed for 100% racing With your patch we can shorten the race time and have the effect of wear ... combined with pit entries can give an awesome thrill ... In PDLR we are planning to propose a championship using the dgp 36fps and refueling. We will be proposing some test event soon. Thank you very much for your contributions Olaf
